Comments: Cairns bay Flinders is a very famous fossicking area for Zeolites. It is now a preserve and out of bounds to fossickers and mineral collectors.Consequently specimens from this locality have become scarce and much sought after.The zeolites from Flinders are world class and are housed in most museums of the world, they equate with the zeolites of the deccan traps of Pune India. Australia has an abundance of world class zeolite sites including Bundoora qy, etc. and many good specimens are still available to zeolite collectors upon request from Australian dealers and collectors. This specimen is a delightful piece with the red Gmelinite crystals standing out against the Analcime crystals and the basalt matrix.
