Comment: Smithsonite,is one of the carbonates that has a multitude of colors. Here on this specimen it is encasing the mineral Coronardite an Oxide of Manganese. This is a common occurance at the Broken Hill mines and many specimens of Smithsonite in a huge variety of crystal forms have seen daylight from these famous mines. The dogtooth crystals if you can find a specimen are exceptionally outstanding.
